Jody,
That is a great idea and an exciting one! I'd like to put two songs into consideration. Both were "Top 100" in 1968.

Angel of the Morning by Merilee Rush
People Got To Be Free by the Rascals

For those of us that are with Jody on that diet thing, how about a challenge? Let's see who can get closest to their graduating weight! I'd suggest that you have to lose at least 25 pounds to be in consideration!

Jerry, you have done a great job on this web page! I,ve had to be dragged and screaming into the computer age and it still frustrates me at times. Jody that was a good idea about the music too-it was all great music though,I hate these Rap songs they have now.
Cindy who is Toddy? Gail told me that she gave you my number so call. Mona

Jerry Fritts,

Thank you for taking the time to make this web page. I wish we had something like this years ago. All of us would see each other at shool everyday and never gave a single thought about getting older and moving away. fortunately you made it possible for us to stay in touch.

Jody,

How about one of the many "Sweet Sixteen" songs from the sixties? And please, lots of love songs so we can slow dance. I don't think my body would survice dancing like Sandy and I did at the last reunion.

Bobby (Bob, if you please. Bobby, if you don't)

I am wondering if anyone remembers someone bouncing one of those hard rubber balls, I can't remember what they called them, outside of the band room before school one morning and breaking out one of those big school light globes. Let's see if anyone owns up to it.

Robert Dodd

It was called a "Super Ball" and the new light globe cost me about $12.00.

That is funny, Bob! I remember those well. Let's see if anyone else remembers the trick of setting off a firecracker in the second floor boys bathroom so that it went off 5 or so minutes after class started, just to watch the teachers converge and no one was there?

How did I do it? (and did ANYONE suspect me?)

Gail, I agree. Jerry has done a GREAT job with this website. Many thanks to you Jerry. As soon as I heard about the reunion I decided it was time to lose some weight. It's not working! Oh well, maybe I'm not the only one. Joke. Love to everyone. Just to see everyones names on class list kinda stirred something warm inside. God bless. Larry

Gerry, if I'm not mistaken, I believe that you left a lit cigaret in the restroom with a fuse stuck to it.

Jerry, you win the prize. Bob, yes things are very different now. Anyone that pulled some of the things we did now days would have a juvie record to accompany them at graduation!

Yes,things have changed since we were in school.Students did some crazy things, but it was all in fun.Schools won't let kids be kids. I know there are rules to abide by,but come on folks get a grip! What happened to staying after school for detention? I'm so glad I attented school in another era where we could enjoy our school days. Being older has it's advantages.

Jerry,
Thanks for adding the faculty. I don't see Mr. Green (I think his name was Max?). He taught math and was assistant principal

Janice Davis Gibson's 31 year old daughter died last week. Please keep Janice and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Gosh, most of the faculty is gone now! I can vividly remember Wilma Small, out in the hallway paddling a student much taller and bigger than she was, tears streaming down her face, telling them that she would pray for them. It almost seems like we grew up in a different universe! And I even remember Bible studies and Bible "Sword Drills" (verse memorization) and a Christmas pageant with the baby Jesus (I was one of the Wise Men) at John H Allen Elementary. Kids today would think we were lying if we told them some of these stories.

I received a letter from Terry Penney today. He says to tell everyone hello and he asks that we keep him in our prayers. He also said to tell everyone that he hopes to attend our 50th reunion.

After our last "reunion-50th b-day" party, we had a small amount of money left over(about $200.00), and with that I have sent a small floral arrangement to our classmates funerals from "Soddy Daisy High School Class of 1968." I have missed some and I am sorry for that. I found that I needed to be more like my parents and read the obituaries everyday!! Of all the families that have resonded with thank you cards, Jimmy Crouch's was one of the most appreciative. Other families have also been very grateful and touched that their high school class would remember them. We will be discussing the memorial fund at our reunion, but if you do not attend and you would like to contribute, you can mail me a check designated for the memorial fund and I will spend it as needed. I have a friendship with a local florist and she gives me a very good deal for the amount of money I have to spend on each order.

Several people have worked hard to get this reunion organized. Jerry has done a great job on the web site. Gail, Pat, Donna, Tina, Jody, and Benny Parker have tried to contact everyone in our class. I think we will all have a great time. See you on October 25th.

To All:

I hope that all of our classmates will join us for the reunion. Thanks to all who have worked hard on this event.

Jerry has done an amazing job on this website.

Jerry Correll will be singing one of his favorite songs at the event, so be sure you do not miss this opportunity. His voice has immproved significanly! Not!

To Larry Roddy: I will bring a set of scales and bet who gained the most. I left at 135lb.

Thanks again to Jennifer, Pat, Jody, Tina, Benny, Donna, Gail for your efforts. I know this has taken a lot of work.

See everyone soon!

First, let me say Thanks to all that helped to make this coming Sat possible. We should have a great time. If you know of anyone that has not filled out their profile, pls ask them to do so, even if their not able to make the reunion.
Also, if everyone will check the In Memory page and you remember something special about any classmate that has passed away, pls take the time to add a comment under their name.
Now, let me say Correll will not be singing, that will be Rigsby, Terry will sing ,he got a lttle confused but that happens to all of us. Jerry Correll will do a speech on why he thinks we voted him Mr Soddy-Daisy and will do all announcement's for the class.
And, if Rigsby and Roddy show up with scales to our 40th reunion, the scales will be thrown overboard by Benny Parker and I'll cheer. Larry and Terry may be thrown overboard too !!! Depends on our mood, take a hint guys!
Any questions or concerns pls e-mail me or call my # (404) 493-1396.
Thank You,
Patricia Poe Valentine

I hope everyone had a great time at the reunion! I know that I did! It was good seeing everyone. Leon Orr should be on "Dancing With The Stars" and certainly gets the "Best Conditioning Award"! Benny,s band did a great job,and the food was good. Janie Smithson was almost too much for me on the dance floor! Best wishes to all.

Hello everyone. I just want to express my heartfelt gratitude for all the hard work that went into making our 40th Class Reunion the greatest. The food, entertainment and facilities were wonderful. I had a wonderful time and can't wait for the next Reunion or just a gathering of friends of Soddy-Daisy High. To Jerry, Pat, Jennifer and Terry I salute for a job well done. To Benny and Jody, you were the greatest entertainment. It was great visiting with so many friends.

Thank you all for such a great job.

The best reunion ever! Could not have been more perfect. Thanks to everyone for making this a great time. Are we going to wait 10 years before we have another one? Hope not... Tina

Patricia Poe (Valentine)

Tina, we will NEVER wait a long time again to be together and have a good time.
I'm going to start planning the next one now, hope Jerry, Benny and Jennifer are up to it.
Thank you, Jerry Fritts for this wonderful Web site, I hope everyone knows how much work Jerry put into this. Gerry Taylor came into town early, he and Jerry got together and after that night, well Jerry gets sick the rest of the week ! He had to leave the Reunion early.
So, we know how to take care of that for the next party. We love you Gerry but this can't happen again !! ha!
Thank all of you for coming and making this our very best reunion. Who would have thought (sort of) old people could have so much fun? Benny and the band, Jody's singing and Peggy's praying.
And I'm praticing up on my dancing for Leon, I'll be ready the next one and so will Donna !!! And lots of others too. Maybe we will raise some money, $5 a dance with Leon !! Of course, that money will be for our Memorial Fund and the site.
Our Web site will stay up for us, thanks to Fritts and Rigsby, so keep checking it for updates and the sale of our DVD which we are going to start working on asap.
Love you all,
Pat Poe Valentine

Thanks Pat. Gee, I fly 2300 miles for the sole purpose of attending your little soirée and this is the thanks I get! You blame me for all of you working poor Jerry into mental and physical exhaustion. Just for that I withdraw my invitation for all of you to come visit me here in beautiful Washington State! Now you will just have to come in winter instead and suffer the rain!

Seriously though, it won't be 20 years this time before I see you all again. That I promise.
